Christian Homes
Caring for vunerable people in Ghana
Creating change for children, youth and women in Ghana.
The African Christian Homes and Rehabilitation Centre (ACHRC) is dedicated to transforming the lives of children, young women, and families in crisis through the redemptive power of Jesus Christ. Our mission is to provide Christ-centered homes, health development programs, and educational support to equip and inspire individuals to live productive Christian lives.
The vision
We envision children, young women and families in crisis to be transformed by the redemptive power of Jesus Christ and empowered to fulfil all of their God-given potential.
Our mission is to love with God’s love and to support spiritually, physically, and mentally those children, young women and families in crisis.
The history
Founded in 1997 by Reverend Kofi Boateng, ACHRC operates as a subsidiary of Faith African Evangelism Inc., a non-denominational and evangelistic ministry. Our organization has its roots in Freetown, Sierra Leone, where we began by rehabilitating displaced individuals and former combatants. Recognizing the need to extend our mission, we established ACHRC in Ghana to provide shelter and support for children and families in crisis.
Programs
Christ-Centered Homes
ACHRC provides safe and nurturing environments for children and young women, ensuring they have the stability and care needed to thrive. Whenever possible, they encourage maintaining relationships with family and friends. The homes are led by Christian house parents—individuals and couples who undergo rigorous screening and training to provide compassionate care and spiritual guidance.
Health Development Programs
In partnership with the West Africa Project to Combat AIDS, ACHRC is actively involved in STD and HIV/AIDS awareness campaigns, particularly in secondary schools, where they educate young people about the dangers of HIV/AIDS and female circumcision. Their dedicated counselling team offers ongoing support to individuals living with AIDS, visiting them regularly to provide encouragement and care.
ACHRC believes in the power of education to change lives. They are committed to providing educational opportunities for children, youth, and women, offering them hope and a future. Their initiatives include acquiring land to build permanent rehabilitation centres, orphanages, and schools, ensuring that young people in crisis have access to education and a safe place to grow.
